Come warm up for the Boogie with with a Biodanza workshop led by Pablo Concha. Biodanza, meaning “dance of life,” is a system of self-development and human integration created in Chile by Rolando Toro in the 1960s. It combines music, movement, and group exercises to enhance emotional expression, promote well-being, joy, self-expression, and a deeper sense of belonging. Biodanza supports nervous system regulation, values diversity and inclusion, and encourages personal and collective growth. Sessions (vivencias), grounded in five pillars—affectivity, creativity, vitality, sexuality, and transcendence—are based on guided movement experiences practiced without shoes.

Pablo is a Biodanza facilitator trained at the Biodanza School of Santiago of Chile, with specialization in Biodanza for Children and Youth, Tree of Desires, and Neoshamanism. He facilitates weekly Biodanza groups in New York and has collaborated with schools, colleges, and community organizations. He was invited as a guest facilitator at Colaboratorio del Placer in Puerto Rico, organized by Circuito Queer, a feminist and LGBTQIA+ cultural network. Pablo currently leads Biodanza sessions at CUNY through the Women’s Resource Center and is part of the teaching team of the upcoming Biodanza School of New York State. He is also a musician, theater-maker, and teacher. His work integrates movement, music, creativity, and emotional expression, with a strong commitment to inclusion, embodiment, and community healing.

Boogie Guidelines

Our guidelines are basically common sense and meant to ensure that all participants can enjoy the dance in a safe and respectful environment.

Bring something to drink - You'll work up a sweat so remember to stay hydrated! There is also water available on premises.

The dance floor is for dancing! - Please, refrain from extended conversations on the dance floor. There is an area where people can comfortably hang out and schmooze.

Footwear - It's the Barefoot Boogie, so the preferred footwear is - none! But clean shoes (you can wipe them off at the door) with non-marking soles are acceptable.

Dancing - Any kind of dancing is welcomed as long as it respects the safety and space of your fellow boogie-ers.
